Tangle is South West England’s African Caribbean Theatre Company. We celebrate the work of artists of African, Caribbean and more than 50 other heritages. Our work integrates, asserts and celebrates their brilliant contribution to UK theatre, particularly in rural areas where there is little inter-cultural interface.
We have a year-round programme of touring productions, discovery projects and strategic research that helps grow a creative breeding ground where many world views, languages and outlooks are positively championed in the UK’s fast changing social context. By building bridges between different cultures, we aim to increase social cohesion and cultural understanding across South West England and beyond.
We work across the South West - the UK’s largest and most rural region with our registered office at Take Art in South Somerset. We are a member of ITC and of Sustained Theatre Bristol, and an Affiliate Member of The London Hub of Sustained Theatre.
Our creative programme operates in three distinct areas: productions, discovery, and strategy projects . We work closely with more than 40 organisations across the UK and with artists such as Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA), with whom we collaborate for our annual Tangle Cafe networking night.
Tangle projects build abilities and confidence at every career stage. If you’re interested in learning, growing skills and finding out more about inter-cultural theatre, there will be something that interests you about Tangle!
